CULTIVATION TECHNICIAN

Position Overview

A Cultivation Technician is responsible for cannabis plant care in all stages of growth not limited to but including germination, propagation, vegetative stages, flowering and harvest. The Technician journals, monitors and tracks all observations in the company’s software tracking system in compliance with 105 CMR 725.105 (G)(3) & (4).

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Clone, transplant, water, fertilize, prune, trellis, defoliate, inspect for pathogens, identify toxicities and deficiencies, top, bud, and low stress train cannabis plants.
  • Completing all accompanying paperwork and input this information into the software tracking system ensuring compliance with 105 CMR 725.105 (G)(3) & (4).
  • Cleaning or sterilizing all associated equipment used in the cultivation process as well as the grow rooms, transplant, wash, and general storage areas.
  • Observe, record and report information to the supervisory team about plant growth, pathogens, and environmental disturbances.
  • Maintain tools in accordance with sanitation standards and in acceptable condition for best practices with the plants.

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):

  • Working knowledge of medical and recreational cannabis industry.
  • Working knowledge of general plant physiology and biology, cannabis specific knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work in hot humid conditions on concrete for long periods of time, standing, walking around, and preforming manual labor associated with plant care.
  • Knowledgeable on regulations related to the Medical Use of Marijuana Program.
  • Experience with inventory control methods.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including listening, and communication.
  • Ability to take direction, comprehend, and complete tasks as assigned in a timely manor.
  • Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and experience working with senior level executives.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships in order to gain support and achieve results both internally and externally.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem solving.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Experience and Education:

Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in horticulture, plant science, or biology and three to five years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment producing a commodity derived from proper plant care.

Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities, both operations and analysis.
