Position Overview

The  Extraction Technician is  responsible for following established protocols, regulations and procedures during the cannabis extraction process while operating equipment and conducting activities required to manufacture and store product, as well as properly maintain production equipment and materials necessary to run a world-class extration lab. 

 

Pay Rate:  $23.00/hour plus benefits

 

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Operating  extraction  and  distillation  equipment and  handling  extraction  gases  winterizing, refining, distilling, and/or formulating final product
  • Follow Policies & Procedures for the daily operations and fully comply with state medical marijuana regulations
  • Cleaning  and  maintenance  of  lab  and  extraction  equipment  as  required  by  procedures  and manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain accountability of all raw materials, finished products, and by-product
  • Maintain records of product and inventory within Seed-To-Sale software system
  • Maintain safety equipment and records
  • Perform clerical work as it pertains to extraction lab activities
  • Understanding regulations/changes to regulations (local and state level)
  • Perform QA/QC through analytical testing for quality, consistency and efficacy
  • Master various techniques for marijuana extraction and infusion, including butane extraction
  • Develop expertise in testing and formulating methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):

Must pass a background check and submit personal information to become a state agent.  Previous experience in plant processing preferred:

  • Speed and precision with equipment and attention to detail
  • General knowledge of weights and measurement
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain work consistency on a daily basis
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Standing/sitting for long periods of time
  • Ability to handle stress
  • Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance

 

Experience and Education

Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in chemistry, and three to five years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment. Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities, both operations and analysis.
